The Isle of Wight based small-batch producer of award-winning fine oils, dressings and fruit vinegars Wild Island has been given a new lease of life.
The ‘Great Taste’ awarded producer has earned a first-class reputation from speciality chefs and fine food retailers across the Island and the south coast. With the SALSA production kitchen of Wild Island housed at The Garlic Farm premises, the two companies have collaborated closely for many years.
When Nuala Grandcourt, founder, began thinking of a successor for the business The Garlic Farm was a very natural and symbiotic choice. An acquisition is now complete; this secures continuity and strengthens the future of Wild Island. Where appropriate the companies will begin to consolidate despatch and bring simplicity and benefits to customers of both brands.
This alliance will build on the relationships with local chefs and customers as well as enable Wild Island’s mainland supply to flourish, fulfilling both in a more efficient way.
Combining this well-loved Island brand with the established distribution network enjoyed by The Garlic Farm will not only support the Island economy but also enhance its reputation as a region blessed with high quality food and drink producers.
With numerous awards between them and hundreds of thousands of passionately positive customers, the Isle of Wight brands are shaping the reputation of our Island… one mouthful at a time! It’s very exciting that Nuala has chosen us as guardians of her fantastic flavours – the team at the farm can’t wait to send these small bottles of deliciousness far and wide across the country.”
- Barnes Edwards, director of The Garlic Farm.
“Thanks to The Tomato Stall, Mermaid Gin, Island Roasted, Isle of Wight Meat Co, Isle of Wight Cheese Co, Goddards and many others, the Island with its UNESCO Biosphere Reserve status has established itself as a nationally recognised producer region.
