In 2017, The Isle of Wight Council launched its Regeneration Programme: ‘An Isle of Opportunities’ which included consultation with Island residents: ‘The Wight We Want’ with the 2019-2030 Regeneration Strategy for the Isle of Wight being adopted in June 2019. The strategy aims to ensure the economic future of the Island and create an Island that is a great place to grow up, live, work and visit setting out where the Island is today and the actions and activities that the Council believes will enable the vision for the future to be realised.
