Connecting business with community.
The WightAid Foundation, was established in 2016 by founder Geoff Underwood, the CEO of IFPL, an international design and manufacturing company based on the Island and three-times winner of the prestigious Queen’s Awards for Enterprise.
With an unshakeable commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of Islanders, the charity embodies the spirit of solidarity and compassion. WightAid has become a dynamic force in addressing local challenges and fostering a sense of belonging.
At its core, WightAid strives to enhance the well-being of the Isle of Wight community by supporting and collaborating with numerous charities, community organisations and grassroots initiatives, identifying and addressing the unique needs of island residents. From wellbeing, heritage, youth development, sport and education to social welfare and environmental conservation, WightAid's scope of influence is as broad as it is inspiring.
One of the defining features of WightAid is its agility in responding to emerging issues. Whether aiding the vulnerable population, promoting cultural enrichment, or fostering economic resilience, the foundation remains adaptive and proactive. The dedicated Trustees behind WightAid join the dots between resources and needs, ensuring the island's social fabric remains robust and interconnected.
Community engagement is a cornerstone of the WightAid philosophy. The Foundation creates partnerships with local businesses fostering a sense of unity among Islanders and creating a culture of giving. WightAid has cultivated a response from the Island’s business community that actively participates in charitable giving.
